Mareesa is a singer and songwriter based in Edinburgh. She graduated with a BMUS(hons) degree in 2007 specializing in Saxophone and Piano. She has been singing since childhood, turning professional in 2008. Since then she has played over 1000 gigs in various line-ups. She is a seasoned vocalist, multi instrumentalist, voice-over artist and session musician. She is the lead singer with premier Scottish Events band 'Soul Inferno', regularly performing at exclusive venues and hotels across Scotland.  Mareesa also currently models for the world-renowned Model Team agency and has been involved in campaigns for global companies including British Airways, John Lewis, Specsavers and Heineken.

In 2016 Mareesa began co-writing with UK No 1 selling vinyl artist Caroline Gilmour to form duo ‘The Eves’. Their debut song ‘Tides’ was produced by Mark Morrow (Folda, Vistas, Mt. Doubt). Radio presenter and DJ Jim Gellatly described ‘Tides‘ as ‘a glistening pop gem with delightful harmonies’, making the song his ‘track of the day’ as well as adding it to his November Spotify playlist. The duo received airplay on BBC Radio Scotland’s Iain Anderson Show, BBC Alba, RockSport Radio, CamGlen Radio and have had press features in The Scottish Sun, The Sunday Post, The Herald and other local press and online publications.

The pair have toured together in London, Copenhagen, Isle of Skye/Harris, and internationally. As well as touring, Mareesa and Caroline are writing an album together (due for release Summer 2019).

Mareesa has always had a passion for writing and has many influences.  Her taste in music is wide reaching from The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Sheryl Crow, Motown, to current artists like First Aid Kit, Lissie, Laura Marling, Diane Birch, The Pierces, and Lianne La Havas. Her greatest songwriting influences are the artists who have helped to define popular music such as Carole King, James Taylor, Paul McCartney, Simon and Garfunkel, Bonnie Raitt, Carly Simon and Jackson Browne.

Mareesa is booked with her band The Eves to open for The Shires at the prestigious Kelvingrove Bandstand on May 25th.
